_System Integration and Customization

This section describes how to configure and customize your

Evatel system to properly integrate it into your telephony, networking and web environments. The integration and customization phases should be started once the

Evatel system has been successfully installed and configured as a standalone speech solution already answering SIP calls, playing audio and text messages using TTS, and responding to speech and DTMF commands.
The integration task list applies to both systems installed at a service provider site as well as inside a company. These integration tasks are as follows:

  1. Integration into your Telephony System
  2. Integration into your Data Network
  3. Integration on your Web site
  4. Customization and branding of Web Portal
  5. Integration with your Billing System

Integration into your Telephony Environment

The telephony integration consists in configuring the interlinks and call routing needed for your Evatel system to send and receive telephone calls through your telephone system (yourPBX, IP Centrex or SIP Gateway). This integration phase requires good technical skills in SIP telephony. There three  integration scenarios:
  • System installed at an IP-Centrex Service Provider (ASP model) to provide hosted virtual assistant and mobility services to companies and individuals on a subscription basis.  The Evatel system is integrated into the service provider Internet and telephony infrastructure.
  • Service Hosted at a Service Provider for a Company Using it Remotely to provide virtual assistant and mobility functions to its employees. The Evatel system is installed at a service provider but uses the company's telephone system (PBX) to make and receive calls.

  • System installed at a private enterprise (CPE model) to provide productivity functions to company employees. Evatel is installed in the enterprise connected to the company's telephone system (PBX) to make and receive calls.

Integration into your Data Network

The integration of Web Portal into you data network consists in configuring your firewall and Internet routers to integrate your Evatel system into your local data network and enable it to safely use the Internet to communicate with the world. The data integration requires settings in three areas:

  • Configuring your firewall to control Internet access to the Evatel system
  • TCP/IP Ports to open on your firewall
  • Assigning a public IP address for your your Evatel system.

Note: This step is required only if the Evatel system is installed inside your company (not used remotely as a hosted service).

Integration on your Web Site

 You can integrate the user subscription and login interfaces directly into your current Web site. You will be provided with the programs, samples and instruction guide to help you in accomplishing this integration task. Here are the functions you can integrate into your Web site:
  • Interface to create a new user account and subscribe to the service packages offered;
  • Interface to enable users to login and open a session on Web Portal from your Web site.

Note: You can also customize and brand (private labeling) the account management Web pages so that users interface only with your company's branding, graphic colors and theme. Go to Customization and Private Branding of Web Portal Pages to know more.

Download the document Remote provisioning and Login (PDF) to learn more on how to offer account creation and login from your own Web site.

Pages

 The Evatel system supports private branding of its Web Portal pages for company accounts. This enables each company to offer a privately-branded account management Web interface using its logos and colors. The Web Portalprivate-branding applies to the company account administrator as well as company users. The branding can be achieved at the following two levels:
  • General appearance of all pages of the Web site using personalized CSS styles;
  • Customization of each page using new HTML code;

Download the document Evatel Manager Branding (PDF) to learn more on how to customize the Web interface of your Evatel system.

Integration with your Billing System

The Evatel system generates billing data detailing the use of different services and options by each user, every month. The billing data is exported into .CSV files for processing by either your own billing system or the Web PortalBilling Module. In order to integrate the Evatel services into your billing system, you need to choose one of the following two options:
  1. Export the billing data for processing by a third-party billing system (or your own). Download the document Data Export Utility Guide (PDF)  for more details on how to export bill data for processing by your billing system.
  2. Use the Evatel billing module. Download the Evatel Billing Module (PDF) for more details on how to bill your customers using the Evatel billing system.
