Services
What is a Service?
A Service is a speech application that runs on the Evatel Service Platform (media server). Services can be pre-built Evatel mobility services or custom IVR applications written in the VoiceXML scripting language. Each Service has a unique URL but can have many telephone numbers for user access: a DID and/or a virtual extension for traditional telephone access, and SIP address for access using IP phones. The URL specifies the address where the Evatel platform can find the start page of the speech service. Calls received by Evatel for a known DID, virtual extension or SIP address get transferred directly to the service that handles that DID, extension or SIP address. The common Services handled by Evatel are:
- Mobility services such as the virtual assistant, Smart Number, Speech Outlook, etc.
- Virtual Receptionist services for company accounts;
- Custom voice services (IVR application) provided on the system;
The Services page enables you to view and manage services running on the system. Only the system administrator (Your service provider) can add, remove and deploy services.
Company administrators can perform the following operations:
- Activate and deactivate services;
- Assign DIDs to services;
- Assign virtual extensions to services;
