Public Service Account Setup
What is the Public Service?
Each Evatel system comes with a special company account called Public Service to enable individuals to subscribe to Evatel services. The public service account is managed in the same manner as any other company account. By default, the System Administrator is also the company administrator of this account.
Configuring the Public Service Account
As the System Administrator, you are responsible for configuring and managing the public service settings. Login as the System Administrator on your Web Portal to configure the public service account as follows:
In the Companies view , click on the "Public Service Provider" company name to open its Company Profile. You can now start provisioning and configuring the public service account as follows:
- Company Name: Enter the name of the public service account. By default, the name is "Public Service Provider"
- Subscription Keys: In the Free Keys field, enter the number of Subscription Keys assigned to the Public Service account. This sets the maximum number of people that can subscribe to the service.
- Service Packages: Click on Edit Default Packages to select the service packages assigned to public subscribers. Each service package includes a set of services and a pricing plan. Go to Service Packages for more.
- Telephony Provider: Select the telephony provider (Public IP Gateway or internal IP-PBX) to be used to make and receive calls. Go to Telephony Providers to add and edit telephony providers.
- Call Permissions: Click on Call Permissions to open the Call Permissions window where you can view and edit existing permissions. You may also click New Permission to define a new call permission for public subscribers.
- DID Phone Numbers: Click DIDs on the Web Portal Toolbar to open the DIDs page. Select the Unused DIDs tab, and then click on Import DIDs. Select the source (Text File) then click Open to import the DIDs. You may also click New DID to manually enter the DID numbers to be offered to public subscribers.
