System Call Restrictions
What is a Call Restriction ?
Call Restrictions are a set of rules to block certain types of calls. System Call Restrictions apply to all VARs, companies and users on the system. VAR Administrators can set existing call restrictions for their companies or add new ones, and Company Administrators can do the same for their own users. VAR and Company administrators are not allowed to remove call restrictions set by the System Admin. They can only modify or remove their own Call Restrictions.
To access the System Call Restrictions, click on the Call Restrictions
button. The Call Restrictions page lists the current system Call Restrictions settings.
Adding New System Call Restrictions
You can create and add a new call restriction from the Call Restrictions page by clicking the Add New Restriction button. An Add New Restriction window opens. Fill in the new call restriction properties as follows:
Important note: Make sure that the number of wild cards corresponds to the number of digits in the type of phone numbers to control.

- In the Name of Restriction field, enter a brief description of the new call restriction.
- In the field Applies when dialing phone numbers with the following format, enter the phone or extension number for the call restriction. Use "?" as a wild card for any digit.
- Select the Default Status of the restriction:
- Choose Enabled if you want to prohibit this type of calls for all VARs by default. You can later selectively disable this restriction for some VARs to authorize them to make this type of calls.
- Choose Disabled if you want to authorize all VARs to make this type of calls by default. You can later selectively enable this restriction to block some VARs from making this type of calls. Go to Changing the VAR Call restrictions for more.
- Click Submit to add the new call restriction.
Important note: Make sure that the number of wild cards corresponds to the number of digits in the type of phone numbers to control.
Example:
- 514??????? applies to all local calls in the area code 514
- 01133????????? applies to all international calls made from Canada to France
- 001415??????? applies to all international calls made from France to San Francisco, California
Modifying System Call Restrictions
You can modify any call restriction from the Call Restrictions page as follows:

- Click on the name of the call restriction to modify. A Modify Restriction window opens showing the call restriction fields with their current settings.
- Make the desired changes simply by overwriting the existing information.
- Click Submit to save changes. Changes are effective immediately.
Removing System Call Restrictions
You can remove any call restriction from the Call Restrictions page as follows:

link corresponding to the call restriction you want to delete. - Click OK to remove the call restriction.
